Conservation projects continue April 20 and 27

ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day with conservation projects

In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ in Romeoville will host an event from 2-5 p.m. on April 20 and another event will be held from 2-4 p.m. on April 27 at the beginning of the Burnham Centennial Nature Trail near parking lots W and L. Highlights of the events include removing invasive plant species from the nature trail and planting native trees along the nature trail to replace the invasive species.

Last year, Earth Day and Arbor Day were a great success. Any and all able volunteers are invited to help in the effort to make ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ a more sustainable campus. All volunteers will receive a free “Going Green” T-shirt.

The events are sponsored by ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ’s Environmental and Energy Conservation Council.

ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ has been named a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation two consecutive years. The Romeoville campus has enough trees to also be considered an arboretum with programs available to dedicate a tree to a special person or cause. More information is available at the website: .
