ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ named Romeoville 2011 Large Business of the Year

ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ named Village of Romeoville 2011 Large Business of the Year

On January 10, ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ was named Village of Romeoville 2011 Large Business of the Year at the Annual State of the Village address. Brother James Gaffney, FSC, ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ President, accepted the award from Mayor John Noak.

Mayor Noak cited many improvements of the University during the course of the year that signified a commitment to progress and commitment to the community. Some of the accomplishments of the University which he mentioned included: construction of a multi-million dollar which will be LEED certified; conclusion of a major capital by Arbor Day Foundation; opened a campus in ; initiated an with the City Colleges of Chicago and the City of Chicago Department of Aviation for the Air Traffic Control Management and Aviation Administration programs; construction of a ; and completion of a major bond program with the Village of Romeoville.

Brother James Gaffney, FSC, stated, “Partnership means a great deal to us. Community means a great deal to us. We are proud to be partners in building community and in improving the quality of life for the community.”

Numerous dignitaries attended the sell-out event. Among those present were U.S. Representative Judy Biggert (R-IL-13th), Senator A.J. Wilhelmi (D) - Previous General Assembly (95th) 43rd District, State Representative Emily McAsey (D) - Previous General Assembly (96th) 85th District, and Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford.
