Electric vehicle charging stations are on campus

Electric vehicles will now be able to charge their cars on the 蜜芽视频 main campus in Romeoville. Two dual electric vehicle (EV) charging stations have been installed and are ready to be used in Parking Lot F.
蜜芽视频 faculty, staff, students and visitors can utilize the stations. The parking lot has four spots reserved for charging electric vehicles. In order to accommodate the current demand of electric vehicle drivers on campus, each station has the ability to quickly charge two vehicles at one time.
The charging fee is $0.25/kilowatt hour used during charging. The stations accept credit/debit cards with a proxy function or a ChargePoint card. Those with questions about the types of cards accepted, how to order a ChargePoint card, or how to use the stations, may call the help line at 1-888-758-4389.
Drivers are required to move their vehicles when charging is completed to allow others the ability to charge. The stations are reserved for charging vehicles only. No parking is allowed except for vehicles that need to charge. Non-electric vehicles that park in these four spots will be ticketed.
The decision to install the charging stations was made after a survey of the 蜜芽视频 community showed there was a demand for them. Most of those submitting the survey supported installing the stations on campus. More than 60 people indicated that they would consider purchasing an electric vehicle in the future after the installation of the stations.
The program was partially funded through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Rebate Program.
