Harper College 3+1 Forensic Criminal Investigation Program

Harper College students can now earn their associate's degree from Harper and their Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Criminal Investigation from ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ in just four years.

Degree Format

This 129 credit hour program includes 90 credit hours of Harper coursework and 39 credit hours of ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ University coursework. Upon completion of the program, you will receive your associate's degree in Forensic Science from Harper College and your Bachelor of Arts degree in Forensic Criminal Investigation from ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ.

Curriculum Pathway

The student completes 66 hours of coursework at Harper to fulfill the requirements for the AA in Forensic Science at Harper.

Upon completion, the student blends 24 credit hours of additional Harper courses with 30 hours of ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ Forensic Criminal Investigation coursework and 9 hours of ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ Mission courses with ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ faculty. The 3+1 program allows 21 out of the 39 ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ hours to be completed online.

Discounted Tuition

The 90 credit hours of Harper coursework will be completed at Harper College tuition rates. The final 39 hours will be paid through ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ, at a 35% reduced tuition rate.

Who can enroll in the program?

  • Students who have completed an Associate of Arts degree in Forensic Science at Harper College.
  • Students who have completed an Associate in Applied Science degree in Forensic Science at Harper College and take the necessary additional general education coursework to earn an Associate of Arts or Science.
  • New students to Harper who indicate their intent to enter the 3+1 program. Students should ideally apply in their first semester at Harper to receive appropriate advising.
  • Students can apply for admission to ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ when they are six months away from completing their associate degree.

Additional Bachelor’s to Master’s Fast Track Program

During year four, students have the opportunity to apply to the Fast Track Program. Upon admission to the program, students may substitute up to three Criminal Justice graduate courses (500-level classes) for three Forensic Criminal Investigation undergraduate courses. Tuition for the graduate classes will be charged at the 3+1 rate, and financial aid will apply.

After the student receives their BA, the remainder of the courses in the graduate MS in Criminal Justice program can be completed in one year. The student can apply a 20% Frequent Flyer discount to tuition.
